BOOM.

Image
There, ya happy? My God, people were losing their minds in the comments about this. Congrats, you wasted all of your energy on NOTHING .  If people came here expecting me to deliver an epic mic drop or something, then you're gonna be disappointed.  It's 9am in the morning, I'm exhausted. Being a parent means you're always tired.  That said. I'm happy and very excited that this is happening this week. I'm super eager to see more of the game and 15 minutes of new details is more than enough for me.  Some questions you're no doubt asking: "Are we still getting a general Direct in September?" Yes! Of course! "Will the direct still have a big focus on Mario?" Yes!  "Did RGT "just commenting for engagement" 85 just get his dumb ass embarrassed again for the entire Internet to see?" You're goddamn right he did.  Anywho. Okay folks, I'm going back to bed. I'm tired. See ya on Thursday.

Prepare For A Wonderful Week.

Hello, are we all having a good week so far? Yes, I see you crazy folks in the comments. Relax. I'm hearing multiple different days for when this direct is supposed to drop, from all the way to Thursday to next week. I'm gonna be on the safe side and say early next week will be the air date, that's my most educated guess right now.  That said. There's something else to look forward to this week.  That's right, we are indeed getting a Mario Wonder blowout this week, presumably either Wednesday or Thursday.  Expect a deluge of new information about the game.   That begs the question though. Why would Nintendo do this ahead of a direct that's supposed to be airing soon?  I don't know, to be honest. But Nintendo has done plenty of weird things like this before. Maybe they just want Wonder out of the way now? Maybe they have something even bigger, who knows.  Regardless, prepare for a fun week ahead! LET'S-A-GO! WOWIE ZOWIE!

UPDATE 2: MORE INFO! VERY OBVIOUS NEWS BULLETIN: A New Nintendo Direct Is Airing Soon.

In today's "no shit Sherlock!" news, a Nintendo Direct will be airing soon.  I mean, with or without rumors, it was pretty obvious that this was going to happen, but i figured I'd get the word out now anyway.  Nintendo may be starting to wrap up the Switch, but they've got a few more surprises for fans left.  Expect this direct to have another heavy focus on Mario, with new looks at Super Mario Bros. Wonder, Super Mario RPG, Princess Peach's new game, among others. I think some more GameCube remasters are very likely as well.  Speaking of which, a little birdie has told me that Nintendo are showcasing demos of Super Mario Bros. Wonder this week in both America and in Germany at Gamescom. So expect to see a lot more of Wonder, very, very soon.  I'm hearing that this direct likely will air sometime in the first two weeks of September. Look at that: i'm now hearing maybe even sooner. More soon.  Update: It's looking more and more likely that this di

Thank You, Mr. Martinet.

So, there you have it. Charles Martinet is officially out as Mario. I know people were expecting a quicker take from me, but honestly. I was so shocked that I just had to just sit here and process it for awhile. I'm pretty sad, but this man has worked his ass for thirty years bringing joy and happiness to untold millions of people. This man was the voice of gaming. It's a weird feeling.  Charles, from all accounts, is an incredibly joyous soul and an extremely nice individual. I met him at an event years ago and he was such a total sweetheart. What a guy. Unfortunately, Charles can't be doing this forever, and with Switch nearing the end of it's very long life cycle. This was probably the right time to do this.  This is just one of many upcoming wide sweeping changes coming to the Mario franchise. Including more games with more full on voice acting.  That said, I'm definitely sad, but I'm just happy Charles gets to spend more time with his family. He's earne

An Epic Partnership Is Forming.

Nintendo obviously needs no introduction, and neither do Epic Games. It's interesting then, that the two haven't really had that much of a relationship with one another.  That is, until now. In 2019, Nintendo released the tepid Yoshi's Woolly World for Switch. As unremarkable as the game was, it was important for one thing.  It was the first ever Nintendo game to use Unreal engine. That game was made by Good Feel, a studio Nintendo doesn't actually own, but that's semantics.  Now, four years later, we finally have our second game, that being Pikmin 4, of course. Having not played Pikmin 4 myself yet, I can already say that Nintendo's EPD studio knocked it out of the fucking park. Just looking at the environments, the lighting, the particle effects, and the amount of detail they put in, it all looks incredible.  That isn't the end of the story. From what I'm now hearing, Nintendo and Epic have formed a rather large partnership in the background. In fact

The Switch 2 Reports Are Here, And Yup, They're The Real Deal.

So we've finally arrived to the destined point I'm time, and here we are, the days of Switch are finally coming to an end. Six years have gone by in what feels like the blink of an eye.  Truth be told, I never paid much attention to the "Switch Pro" talk. I'm much more of a software guy when it comes to rumors. That and all of that talk just seemed way too early. This, however, feels different.  Eurogamer and Video Games Chronicle are two of the most reputable, highly respected gaming publications out there, and they know exactly what they're talking about. You can trust them. A hybrid cartridge system once again? Check.  Fall 2024 release? That's about seven and a half years after the release of Switch. That makes a perfect amount of sense. Check.  Probably launching a with a brand new 3D Mario? Check. Nintendo going back to LCD screens in order to keep costs down? Check.  Speaking of which...I can finally let this one out of the bag. I've been sittin
