Exciting Things Are Happening In The World Of Mega Man. UPDATED: More Information.
Here we are. It's been over four years since the release of the excellent Mega Man 11, we're now in December, and the Blue Bomber's 35th anniversary is soon approaching. I live and breathe this franchise and I can feel the hype.
Given the tons of new merch we've been getting lately, a big leak from two years ago, teases of Mega Man in the RE engine, and now trademarks, it's all a telling sign of announcements being imminent.
Here's a tiny thing from me:
Alongside Battle Network Legacy Collection, there's an additional three Mega Man games that are in development.
Should be about time to start announcing some of those things, yeah? A Megaman Direct sounds likely, methinks.
Hopefully we get equipped with these new Megaman announcements soon.
Update 12/06/22:
Oooooh boy. This blew up a lot more than I expected. Though, at this point you think I wouldn't be surprised, but here I am.
First off. I just found out that the banner was actually made an extremely talented fan who goes by Reploid21XX. My sincerest apologies. I'm still gonna replace it just because it doesn't feel right to use that without someone's permission. I really like that banner, though.
Secondly. The man himself, Protodude, actually took time out of his day to respond, which is pretty crazy in and of itself. I've been following him for the better part of a decade, so I'm honored for him to actually have dropped a comment.
That said. I'm going to counter his statement.
The two projects being spoken about have been known to anyone who's been paying attention to Megaman news for the past few years. There's an obvious console Megaman game that was leaked two years ago (actually, it was actually first mentioned by Capcom staff themselves), as well as a Megaman Battle Network mobile game. Nothing about these two projects are secret. Quite the opposite, and I will not pretend that they are. If Capcom somehow comes after me (they won't), then that's a bridge we'll have to cross.
As for a "Megaman event", that was just speculation on my part. Nothing else or any other sources of influence.
If I somehow got something of some sort wrong, apologies.
I've also gone back to the sources to have everything else reconfirmed, and they gave me the go ahead. There will be no retraction.
Thanks for reading.

ReplyDeleteI'm gonna guess you're referring to this.

Then you're correct.
I mean that update is all well and good Zips but like, you said "Three" Mega Man games and only Elaborate on the two known ones without even talking about the supposed third game in development?
ReplyDeleteThe third one is clear on the case, it's just Mega Man 12, which isn't news but at least it's good to know it's still in active development.
