Nintendo's 2022 Isn't Going To Go As Hard As We Thought, And That's Okay.

Alright, here's the last big article from me for awhile, so let's go.

You can't predict this company. Just as you think you've got them figured out, they throw something new at you that you didn't expect. Trying to fully predict Nintendo is a fool's errand, and you will lose, every time. It's a tale as old as time.

Nintendo's two biggest events of the year, The Super Mario Bros. Film and Breath of The Wild 2, have been delayed into Spring of next year. Understandably, a lot of people are bummed. So, what do we have left?

Well, a lot, actually.

Let's take a quick look at what we know about:

Mario Strikers Battle League:

Fire Emblem Warriors Three Hopes:

Advance Wars 1+2:

Xenoblade Chronicles 3:

Splatoon 3:

Bayonetta 3:

Pokemon Scarlet And Violet:

This is obviously the biggest reason as to why holiday is going to be just fine for Nintendo. Pokemon is the biggest franchise on Earth, there's no denying that fact, and comparing it to Zelda, it would have sold more than BOTW2 would have any way. When you have something is unstoppable as Pokemon, delaying Zelda is a thing that's perfectly okay to do.

That's a pretty fucking good lineup, if I do say so myself. There's a lot of variety here. No game is the same, and get this. That's just what we know about currently.  This is an excellent year as it stands already.

Let's make some predictions of what else we could see this year:

1-2 Switch Sequel:

*Sigh*

Yeah, this is happening, for some reason. In fact, I know people that have and seen and played it. It's apparently fucking terrible. Nintendo very well knows this, and they're releasing it anyway.  Regardless, this is a game made for parties so it's going to somehow be a success. I expect this to be announced pretty soon. Probably an  August release.

Don't buy this. Please.

Metroid Prime Remaster:

This has been heavily rumored at this point. This is basically confirmed. An announcement soon is very likely. I'm gonna go ahead and slide this into the October slot, makes the most sense to me.

Fire Emblem:

There's two mainline Fire Emblem games in development. There's a possibility that one might hit this year. This is another one that's hard to pin down. Where do you put it, exactly? And how far after Three Hopes is enough breathing room. This one is hard to say, honestly.

Zelda Remasters:

This is another rumor that is basically confirmed. Just like the Prime remaster, this is another thing that I know for fact exists. Both ports are done and ready to go. What's kind of difficult is figuring out where exactly to put them. They could go literally anywhere in the schedule, and that's why it's so tricky. If I had to make a guess, I'm gonna say anywhere from August to October could be the best spot for this dual pack.

Donkey Kong:

Ah, the long rumored Donkey Kong game. I have a very good feeling that we're finally going to see this thing in action soon. That said, this is another one that's hard to place. November wouldn't make much sense because you already have Pokemon, but anything is possible. December is also something that could happen, that would actually be a pretty smart move in my mind. There's also a possibility of early next year. Hopefully, we should know soon.

Regardless of the speculation, Nintendo has a pretty stacked second half of the year ahead of them. There's undoubtedly a new Nintendo Direct coming our way before too long, and I'm honestly unsure of what to expect in this one, in terms of unannounced games, which is very exciting for me, because now I'm fully capable of being surprised.

That said, that's all I've got. Hope you enjoyed reading this last big article for awhile. Thank you for reading!
