A Tiny Sonic Origins Update.
Hey everyone, things have been crazy busy in my household for obvious reasons, but it's been awhile since my last Sonic scoop, so it's time for another one, I figure.
Here's a tiny update on Sonic Origins:
-The development of this thing has been a total mess. There's been quite a few starts and stops, but they finally have things going at a constant pace now, development seems to be going well, last I heard.
-Sonic 3 is a full on remake, like the Retro Engine games before it.
-It's being made by a very, and I mean, verrry small team. I could count the number of people involved with two hands. The team assembled is very capable though.
-The game will feature QOL updates, such as the Drop Dash in CD and 3&K.
-The music situation is exactly the same as before. Don't expect the MJ music to show up here.
-There's been talk about a special collector's edition of some sort, but I'm actually unsure if that's gotten off of the ground or not.
-It will feature a gorgeous animated intro. If you liked Mania's, then you'll definitely like this one.
As for when there will be some sort of announcement for it? I have no fucking idea.
The fact that we've had to wait 10 months now, with no update is absolutely absurd, and it just proves how poorly prepared they were, regardless, I think this collection will be worth the purchase, there's a lot of hard work being put into this, and I think it will pay off.
I'll share more when I've got it for you guys.
Thank you for updating us on this, Sonic Origins is my most anticipated game this year. I look forward to seeing what else this collection brings to the table & seeing a new generation of fans introduced to the classic games in the best format possible.
ReplyDeleteYour words are giving me hope that this won't end up as sloppily as Sonic Colors Ultimate. Would've been a real shame if the games that made Sonic an icon were completely butchered.
Personally things I would like to see are:
Delete-Sonic CD's past music remastered
-Knuckles in Sonic CD
-More lost levels restored
-Sonic 3 & Knuckles as one game
-Remastered soundtrack for each game (huge stretch but a man can dream)
-Certain graphics that relied on the composite blending such as the waterfalls to be redone. Even if the effect can't be recreated the next best equivalent would be appreciated.
What would really be amazing is a return of Sonic World from Sonic Jam. That had like everything.
ReplyDeletePersonally, I hope these are true, considering that we haven't had any news on Sonic Origins, which is absolutely appalling.
ReplyDeleteI hope there is a lot in the collection like:
- Free Previews of IDW Comics
- All episodes of Sonic Mania Adventures, Sonic Colors: Rise of the Wisps, Chao in Space, and Team Sonic Racing: Overdrive
- Reference sheets of popular IDW characters like Dr. Starline, Belle the Tinkerer, Surge the Tenrec, Kitsunami the Fennec, etc.
- Debug mode
- Time Attack
- Nick Arcade
- Lock-on Technology for Sonic 3 and Sonic & Knuckles.
- Full access to hidden levels like Hidden Palace Zone for Sonic 2
You just said it has an animated intro.
ReplyDeleteIf it doesn’t have an animated intro when it comes out I can’t really trust anything you say
I'm hoping you got info on frontiers soon
