Zippo Predicts 2022 In Gaming. (Part 3)

Part 3, here we go! 

Let's try this again. Apologies for the long wait and the issues. It's been a long day. 

Some of these are absurd, so hold on to your butts.

Sly Cooper 5 Is Coming: 

As was reported last year, a long awaited new installment in the beloved Sly Cooper series is in development. I predict that'll be announced in a Sony showcase this year.  Additionally, it'll be a soft reboot not made by Sucker Punch, but it'll be closely monitored by them. I think a 2023 release is very likely. 

Kingdom Hearts IV Will Be Announced:

Haha, just as I was finishing these up, the Grubbster drops his scoop..

This year marks the 20th anniversary of Kingdom Hearts. It's obviously going to be a big deal, following off of the heels of Sora being in Smash. I believe the game will start after another time skip, with the gang still searching for Sora. The trailer will be all CG, and vague as possible. Sora, Riku and newcomer Yozora will all be playable in this installment. No release date, but Nomura will promise a steady stream of information. Next Gen only.

Infamous 4:

This one goes out to my fellow Infamous loving friends (Jon!) out there. I predict that Infamous 3 is a real thing, and it will feature the return of Cole McGrath. I predict that Cole, Abigail and Delsin will be playable throughout the story, and that it'll feature a new villain. Sucker Punch will develop this, alongside Ghosts of Tsushima 2, which will be announced later. This won't be cross play and will be PS5 only. Will look absolutely stunning.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 2:

Square has a lot of anniversaries this year, don't they? Square's legendary seventh installment in the Final Fantasy franchise turns the big two five in just a few days, and they'll be celebrating it in a big way. My prediction is that during a Sony showcase sometime this year, the second part of this reimagining will hit. No release date, but we WILL see gameplay, and the game will look even better than the PS5 upgrade. This second part will be open world. 

Persona 5 Royal Is A PlayStation Exclusive No More:

Yup, no more memeing about this shit. I predict that Atlus will finally stop fucking around and we finally get ports of PS5Royal on Xbox, as well as Steam. Switch will still miss out, for now. But Persona 3, 4, and Ultimax, plus more, are on the way, so that'll relive the pain.

Sonic Frontiers Will Be Massive, And More Importantly, Good: 

Sonic is going open world, and there's been extremely positive buzz about it, internally and out in the open. I'll go and make some predictions here. The story is going to best Sonic story ever put in a game, by far. Despite being in a new genre, Sonic will still feel like Sonic, and people will be impressed by how well Sonic controls. Additionally, I predict that Tails and Knuckles will be playable, to some extent. DLC will be something that will be a regular thing with the game, post release. I also predict that Sonic will have a new transformation.

Banjo and Kazooie Return: 

I said this shit was gonna get crazy. 

My penultimate prediction for this article is that at an Xbox Showcase, in June, Microsoft will announce that Double Fine is developing a brand new Banjo-Kazooie game. The original creators of the bear and bird duo will be supervising it, and of course, I will predict that Grant Kirkhope will compose the score. If this happens I will actually shit myself.

The Year Of The Blue Bomber: 

2022 is here, and I think it's finally time for our favorite blue robot(s) to get his time. The 35th anniversary will be big, and that's a Zippo Guarantee.

Battle Network Returns:

After a very long hiatus, the virus busting duo are back. The mobile game is a well known thing already, and will be announced rather soon, I predict.

My Second Battle Network Prediction is...

Battle Network Legacy Collection will be the first 3 games, with all of their versions included. There will be cross connectivity with the games so you'll be to get all of the battle chips. I predict it'll release on all current platforms. 

MegaMan X Dive On Steam and Switch: 

This has kinda already been leaked, but yes, I predict that this will happen, and it'll probably be underwhelming to some, but it'll serve as a way to get the series out the door again on consoles. 

MegaMan 12: 

This one is a pretty simple prediction that is  absolutely going to happen, but I'm making it anyway. I predict the next main installment of the classic series is underway and it'll feature the return of Proto Man and Bass as playable characters. It will still be 2D, and the double gear system will return.

MegaMan Taisen Is A Character Action Game: 

My big, crazy prediction here is that the leaked MegaMan game is an action game that will celebrate 35 years of MegaMan, and will feature the MegaMen teaming up across time and space, each iteration will be faithful to their original renditions, and that it will be a 2023 release, is the hard read I'll make here. It's gonna be fucking incredible. I guarantee it.
