Yes, A Sonic Generations Remaster Is On The Way.
Well, this week certainly started with a boom. A Sonic Boom, perhaps?
Bad puns aside, multiple sources have leaked the entire State of Play days before it's airing date.
Can't confirm the other contents myself, but yes, a remaster of 2011's beloved Sonic Generations is on the way for this year.
Here's the bits I know:
-It's a remaster from the ground up, it's now running on the Hedgehog Engine 2.
-The console versions will now run at 60FPS with the option for 4K.
-There's been a very strong internal mandate from SEGA higher ups to improve the quality of Sonic remasters from now on, so *knock on wood*, no Colors Ultimate and Origins mishaps this time.
-There is brand new content, featuring Shadow.
-Will release in the first half of the year, sometime around Sonic 's 33rd birthday in June.
And just to get ahead of all of the speculation, no, this is not the Sonic/Shadow game I'm hearing about. That's a brand new game coming this holiday, in time with the movie. That'll be announced later on this year.
Get excited. It's gonna be a fun week.
why is origins always compared to colors ultimate in terms of quality? origins is a great collection, especially now, colors ultimate got nothing on it
ReplyDeleteDo you know if it's being made by blind squirrel the ones who made sonic colors ultimate. Oh also do you know if there will be any sort of customization like how sonic colors ultimate had the shoes, gloves and boost customizable. Anything like that in the game?
ReplyDeleteA remaster from the ground up is the better outcome than by being developed by Blind Squirrel again. Thank god.
ReplyDeleteWell Zippo, you said end of month. This is the last week, if that direct doesn't come this week. In my eyes at least you talk off your ass
ReplyDeleteI find it very telling how you only made this post when other credible industry insiders make comments about a remaster of this game being on the way. Very telling indeed.
ReplyDeleteFor the love of God give it the fuck up at this point, it's pathetic.
Zippo where's that Nintendo Direct???
ReplyDeleteI bet you'll say "oh Nintendo delayed it because [insert bullshit here]"
You are a fraud. You only comment on this leak after a more prominent leaker with a cleaner record comments on this existing. Regardless of that, your "details" are painfully obvious and are just as worthless as your numerous other leaks in the past 4 years. The remaster uses HE2? No way! It runs at 60fps 4K on current gen consoles? Surprising! A 6 month release window? Never saw that coming. The only bold comment you make is this "not being" the Sonic/Shadow game coming "later this year", which was only said to save your ass. Give it the fuck up man.
ReplyDeleteHi everyone, if you're reading this just know other leakers mentioned the sonic content before zippo. This should not be used in any way to give this person validity or reliability.
ReplyDeleteYOU'RE FINISHED. YOU FUCKING FRAUD.
ReplyDeleteHow is he a fraud he literally said we were getting a sonic and shadow game. This is it
DeleteRead his post, and look what came out. "The remaster will release before Sonic's anniversary", "The Shadow/Sonic game will release later this holiday" Both of these "leaks" are wrong, therefore proving Zippo once and for all that he's nothing but a fraud that knows nothing. Hilarious and ironic that the one bold statement was the nail in his leaking coffin. Have fun trying to backpedal out of this one Zippo.
DeleteHe also said it was going to be a "remaster from the ground up," but it looks the same as the original.

ReplyDeleteI love how wrong you are all the time. Never understood why people trust you. It's clear you just gain noteriety by being the first to post something.
ReplyDeleteDO NOT FORGET THE "Sonic collection featuring obscure Sonic gems", THE "Traditional 3D Sonic game", OR THE "Pixelated 2D Modern game" WHICH WERE ALL BS.
DeleteWe should start a campaign, pressure Zippo to respond. Under every new post let's comment "Where's the Direct?"

ReplyDeleteHey Zippo! Thanks for sharing! I hope you have a wonderful evening!
ReplyDeleteProbably gonna wait to get this on a sale. I have played Sonic Generations dozens of times and I know the Shadow content is going to be brief.
