Live-Action Zelda Movie Announced. I Have Some Thoughts.

So.

That happened.

The day that's been memed for over two decades has finally come. Nintendo officially announced a live-action Zelda movie. And it's safe to say, the reception so has been very, very negative.

The people involved are... questionable, to say the absolute very least.

Sony in general has had a very messy track record in film, Spider-Verse and Hotel Transylvania aside.

Let's start with the director, Wes Ball.

Take a look at his filmography so far:

Woof. He's made mediocre at best YA fiction slop, and that's more or less all he has to his name.

Not promising at all.

Next, the writer, Derek Connolly:

Yeah, no. These are bad movies. Detective Pikachu is not a well written nor entertaining film at all. Jurassic World was a shitty soft reboot of the franchise and it failed miserably in its attempt.

Even less promising.

Finally, and worst of all, the producer, Avi Arad.

First of all, just informing the people that don't know this, he's a shit person. He's a horrible human being who is actively a Zionist, pro-war, and has for many years been a supporter and best friend of the infamous Ike Perlmutter. Give them both a Google search if you want more info on those a-holes. Just terrible.

Here's just a few of his "hit movies".

Just complete and utter peak fiction, am I right?

Also, LOL

It's over.

Also (X2) no, no one is going to convince me Spider Man 3 is a good movie. You can't and you won't. Sorry. He's the very reason that movie is an absolute mess.

I don't know what else to say here. The track records speak for themselves.

I don't feel positive about this in any way right now. Miyamoto's words don't give me much confidence and I don't think the people involved give me much either, and I'm being very nice when i say that.

Wes Ball's next film is a new installment in The Planet of The Apes franchise. And if you guys have seen the last trilogy, all three of them, especially the last two, that were directed by the auteur himself, Matt Reeves, then you'll know that they are absolutely phenomenal films. This guy has a big task ahead of him and I don't know how that's going to go. That movie is going to be make or break for him.

This came off sounding a lot more negative than I actually meant for it to be. But obviously I want to be proven wrong. Please, please, please, let this be good. I want an awesome Zelda movie. We all do.

All of that said, don't freak out. There's another Zelda movie in production. More on that in a bit.
